Under the patronage of Kuwait Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Khalid al Hamad al Sabah, Minister of Commerce and Industry HE Ali bin Ahmed al Kuwari and Kuwaiti Minister of Commerce and Industry Khaled Nasser Abdullah al Roudan will inaugurate the “Made in Qatar 2020” exhibition on Wednesday in Kuwait, Qatar Chamber announced in a statement on Tuesday.
The four-day expo, organised by the Qatar Chamber in coordination with the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry, is held on an area of 10,000 sqm at the Kuwait International Fair with the participation of 220 Qatari manufacturing companies.
Before the opening, the “Qatar-Kuwait Business Forum” will be held in the morning at the venue of Kuwait Chamber with the participation of more than 70 leading Qatari businessmen and 100 Kuwaiti counterparts, the statement said.
Qatar Chamber Chairman Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim al Thani and Kuwait Chamber Vice Chairman Abdel Wahab al Wazzan and Qatar Development Bank (QDB) CEO Abdulaziz al Khalifa will address the forum.
The business forum offers a good opportunity for both sides to review a host of investment and business opportunities available in both countries through two sessions titled; “Investment Climate and Joint Cooperation Opportunities” and “Cooperation Opportunities in Industrial Sector and Renewable Energy Sources”.
The forum will discuss means of increasing joint investments and trade between both countries, as well as encouraging businessmen to establish projects that serve both economies.
Qatar Chamber said all preparations and logistics of the exhibition are completed.
The four-day expo will feature Qatar’s industry through five sectors including food & beverages, furniture, petrochemicals, SMEs and other industries.
The exhibition represents a platform that brings together Qatari companies and factories in front of the Kuwaiti community.
The upcoming edition of the expo is the eighth edition since its inception in 2009, while it is the third to be held outside the country and the second to be held during the siege.
The ‘Made in Qatar’ exhibition aims to promote the Qatari industries and products locally and globally, encourage the use of Qatari products and reduce dependence on imports, encourage investors and entrepreneurs to invest in industrial projects, and support the state’s approach to public-private partnerships, besides opening up new foreign markets to Qatari companies and pushing the industry, especially SMEs.
