The National Counter-Terrorism Committee and the delegation of UN Counter-Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate (CTED) on Tuesday reviewed aspects of cooperation in the fight against terrorism and the efforts of Qatar in this regard.
Director of the International Cooperation Department and Chairman of the National Counter-Terrorism Committee at the Ministry of Interior Major General Engineer Abdul Aziz Abdullah al Ansari said the meeting reviewed the efforts being made by Qatar.
He said the delegation would review the efforts of all sectors concerned with the implementation of Security Council resolutions, including for infrastructure, borders, customs, health, security, airport, and port, as well as maritime borders. The resolutions also include law enforcement, legislation issues, and human rights issues. All these revolve around the fight against terrorism and the efforts of Qatar in implementing Security Council resolutions, he added.
The NCTC head said Qatar faces challenges in hosting the 2022 World Cup World Cup to ensure security and safety in this major event.
