Qatar and Russia signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the security field on Tuesday.
This came as Prime Minister and Minister of Interior HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz al Thani and Secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolai Patrushev reviewed cooperation relations between Qatar and Russia and the prospects for strengthening and developing them, especially in the security field.
The meeting also discussed the efforts of the two countries in combating terrorism, in addition to a number of regional and international issues of common concern.
The PM and Patrushev witnessed the signing of the MoU between the Government of Qatar and Government of Russia to enhance security cooperation.
Later, the PM hosted a luncheon banquet in honour of the Russian Security Council secretary and his accompanying delegation at the Amiri Diwan.
