The ‘Al-Wasmi’ Garden Festival will open at the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) on Tuesday (today).
The event will run until February 22.
In the next five day, the Southern Katara Hills will host a beautiful and rich bouquet of distinguished cultural, entertainment and artistic activities.
The event will be an opportunity for visitors to discover the luxurious designs of various forms of gardens, including international garden designs from Britain, France, Japan, India and Qatar.
The ‘Al Wasmi’ Katara Gardens Festival will provide a variety of performances, including live fictional performances inspired from every destination of the international parks hosted by the Green Zone.
The event will feature Peter, Dina’s play in the Magic Garden and The Play of the Jungle during the festival days at 9pm and 9:30pm, and Alice’s play in the Book of Wonders, and the play of the Beautiful and the Beast at 6pm.
The arts park is dedicated to include various types of arts, such as graffiti and caricatures, in which artists will participate with live drawing in front of the audience.
Meanwhile, the games area will be open in two sessions, the first period from 10am to 1pm, and in the evening from 4pm to 9pm.
Many competitions and workshops will be held in a charming natural setting to provide a fascinating experience for the public in all its spectrums and provide a wonderful opportunity to enjoy such as the flower workshop, the textile workshop, the canopy colouring workshop, peacocks and henna painting, and the flower making workshop.
The flower area will host a number of activities, including pottery making, flower planting, drawing on rocks, arranging Japanese flowers and flower arrangements.
The colour shows and fireworks will be held on February 21 and 22 at 4pm.
The festival’s sponsors are the National Tourism Council (the official sponsor), Qatar Airways the official sponsor, and Ooredoo the silver sponsor.
