A huge gathering of ladies and children enjoyed the Qatar National Sports Day activities organised by Losail Circuit Sports Club at the Losail International Circuit.
A record attendance of 3,667 ladies, young boys and girls turned up to take part in variety of events. It was the fourth successive year when LCSC celebrated the Qatar National Sports Day for only ladies and children, giving them an opportunity to exercise and enjoy the day in an outdoor facility in full privacy.
The windy and chilly conditions could not stop the participants from figuring in different fitness-focused activities which started at 9 am and continued until 7 pm under the floodlights of the circuit.
The attendance was slightly higher than previous editions, recording an increase of six percent in the number of participants compared to last year. Also 80 percent of them were Qataris, which was much higher than the expected number.
Khalid al Remaihi, LCSC Vice-President and General Manager, was pleased with the high turn-out during the Qatar National Sport Day.
“Even though the weather has not been good - as it was windy and cold, we are very pleased to see that the number of participants increased compared to last year. This is the fourth year we have organised this event for ladies and children and we try each year to improve the services and activities available so everybody can enjoy this family day.
“The Losail International Circuit is the perfect facility where all the ladies can enjoy and practise sport with a total privacy and freedom as all from the volunteers to security and the staff are females,” he added.
“I would like to extend my gratitude to the Ministry of Culture and Sport, the Qatar Sports for All Federation and Qatar Cyclists for their continued support in making this a successful event. I wish to thank all the suppliers, professionals and volunteers who contributed and worked hard for this special day,” Remaihi said.
