The Center for Orphans Empowerment and Care (Dreama) hosted the Association of African Ambassadors Wives in Qatar, which included the spouses of the ambassadors of Mali, South Africa, Djibouti and Niger.
The visiting delegation was briefed on the experience of cultural, artistic and media empowerment carried out by the centre for its children.
The Association of African Ambassadors Wives in Qatar has chosen to visit Dreama Center because it’s one of the best orphan care centres in the Middle East.
The centre works to promote development work in the field of children’s rights, in line with the sustainable development plans of the United Nations.
Mariam bint Ali bin Nasser al Misnad, Dreama executive director, expressed her happiness over the joint cooperation with the Association of African Ambassadors Wives in Qatar.
She outlined her aspirations to launch a new plan for the centre to be more open to the international community, the diplomatic community and humanitarian and development organisations.
She also thanked the African ambassadors wives for their participation in the volunteer teams in Dreama and organising regular visits to orphans, and their contribution to promote the integration of abandoned children and orphans into society.
Misnad said, “I am glad to see the crowd of diplomatic figures today who have united on one humanitarian goal, which is advocating the rights of orphan children. Humanitarian issues always require concerted international and domestic efforts to improve the conditions of human lives.
“The Dreama Center has become fully responsible for the United Nations development goals, including raising the state of coordination and international cooperation in the field of childhood.”
She added that the vision of the centre has become more open to achieving social and humanitarian coordination between Dreama and the heads of diplomatic missions in Qatar to serve the interests of children.
She emphasised the role of effective international partnerships in exchanging experiences and the solidarity of civil society organisations at the local and international levels to achieve the sustainable development goals.
Misnad underlined the need to focus on development fields related to children’s rights, noting the role of the centre in promoting social integration and empowerment for the children of Dreama.
She also stressed the need to raise awareness of social responsibility towards this important segment of society and working against the social stigma that may accompany orphaned children of unknown descents.
The visitors thanked the management of Dreama Center represented by Misnad for the good reception and provision of adequate information on the vital role that Dreama plays in providing high-quality services to their children in Qatar and working to empower and integrate them into society.
The also appreciated the centre’s work to enhance professional and life capabilities of orphan children in accordance with international standards in preparation for their integration in society and empowerment in all fields.
They hoped to strengthen cooperation with the centre in the near future.
