QU and DI sign pact to boost cooperation in academic research

QATAR University (QU) and Doha Institute for Graduate Studies (DI) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
President of QU Dr Hassan Rashid al Derham and President of DI Dr Yasser Suleiman signed the MoU.
The MoU will facilitate exchange of experiences and experts between the two institutions in the field of academic research, in addition to exchange of bulletins, studies, statistics and joint holding of conferences, meetings, trainings and surveys.
The MoU will also see formation of working committees and joint teams to coordinate in the areas that fall within the framework of this memorandum.
The two parties affirmed that the cooperation stems from the belief of both institutions in the vital and effective role that education and higher education institutions play in serving the country and society. They added that the MoU would allow exchange of information and experiences to raise the performance level of both parties.
Derham stressed the importance of this cooperation with DI, which has the finest Arab scholars in the field of humanities.
He said that although QU is the first national university in the country and includes the largest number of disciplines, it always needs cooperation with scientific institutions to achieve its goals.
For his part, the DI president praised the QU’s high standards, prominent international position as well as its internationally accredited programmes.
He also noted the importance of this cooperation between the two institutions, saying that DI has a lot of expertise and specialties, which makes it a distinguished and important partner for QU to achieve collective aspirations.
