More than 200 people benefited from a medical camp organised by Kerala expatriate forum Adoor Association in Doha, recently. The camp was organised on the occasion of the 71st Republic Day of India, with the support of Aster Medical Centre in Doha.
Indian Embassy First Secretary, Labour & Community Welfare, SRH Fahmi inaugurated the camp.
Noted Indian filmmaker Adoor Gopalakrishnan, who was in Doha for a short visit, paid a visit to the medical camp. He lauded the humanitarian services rendered by Indian expatriate associations for low-income workers.
Meanwhile, officials of Indian Community Benevolent Forum (ICBF) briefed about the benefits of its new insurance scheme and urged all workers to join the scheme.
All members of Adoor Association have joined the ICBF insurance scheme and the documents were handed over to ICBF President PN Baburajna by Alex Parakkod, the president of Adoor Association.
The event was attended by ICBF Managing Committee member Jutas Paul, Adoor Association Secretary J Jyothish and official of Aster Medical Centre Rejil Jecob.
