Qatar’s foreign merchandise trade surplus, which represents the difference between total exports and imports, increased by nearly QR1.8 billion, or 14.4 percent, to QR14.3 billion in December 2019, compared with the trade surplus in the previous month. According to Planning and Statistics Authority figures, the total exports of goods amounted to around QR23.6 billion, an increase of 6.4 percent compared to November 2019. On the other hand, the imports of goods in December 2019 amounted to around QR9.3 billion, showing a decrease of 4 percent on a month-on month- basis.
