Qatar National Bank (QNB) Group has announced its diamond sponsorship of the 2020 Compliance and Combating Financial Crime Forum due to be held from January 29-30, the bank said in a statement on Monday.
The forum is held under the auspices and presence of the Governor of the Qatar Central Bank Sheikh Abdulla bin Saoud al Thani.
The forum is organised by the World Union of Arab Banks and hosted by QCB as part of regional efforts to counter the escalating pattern of financial crime. The forum will discuss cyber-crime, the various forms of financial crimes and the methods for detecting suspicious activities in Qatar.
QNB’s sponsorship of this important forum comes as part of the Group’s commitment to combating the increasing spread of financial crimes, especially the increasing resort to cybercrime that accompanies the accelerating digitisation of this age.
QNB is also firmly committed to the compliance culture in Qatar and internationally, ensuring the combating of fraud and the enhancement of security and accountability across its international operations.
The forum will also include the discussion of many other topics related to financial crimes and the compliance field by its prestigious panel of experts.
The most notable of these will be cyber security, compliance data protection, Global AML issues, banks and de-risking, raising awareness on financial crimes, and fraud and cybersecurity in the age of digitalisation.
