VCUarts Qatar will receive applications from students for admission to its Fall 2020 semester until February 1, according to Katherine Magnum, Recruitment and Admissions director at the university.
The Qatar Foundation (QF) partner university is located in Education City and features state-of-the-art labs, libraries and studios. It is the branch campus of VCUarts in Richmond, Virginia -- a top-ranked public art and design school in the US.
VCUarts Qatar offers five undergraduate degree programmes: Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Fashion Design, Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Graphic Design, Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Interior Design, Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Painting and Printmaking, and Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Art History. There is also a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) programme.
According to Mangum, admission counsellors are available for consultations every day. Besides, the university’s website includes application requirements, answers to frequently asked questions and programme information.
“Our graduates pursue successful careers in a variety of industries. There are many opportunities opening up in Qatar that are in need of the skillsets which our students acquire at VCUarts Qatar,” said Mangum. “In addition to working as artists and creatives, they can apply their critical thinking and design skills to the growing cultural and museum sector as well as to small businesses, interior design, retail and merchandising, tourism and consulting fields.”
VCUarts Qatar welcomed its class of 2023 in August 2019 comprising 86 students from 14 countries. Out of them, 79 are undergraduate students, while seven are pursuing Masters of Fine Arts in Design programme.
