THE MES Indian School commemorated the celebration of the 71st Republic Day of India with solemnity and grandeur, at the KG Auditorium on Sunday. Patriotic songs, group dances and tableau depicting the cultural integrity and harmony of the country were presented by the students to highlight the importance of the day.
President of MES Governing Body and Chief Guest of the day BM Sidhique hoisted the Indian national flag, which was followed by the rendition of the national anthem by the school choir.
“It is due to the struggle and sacrifices of our freedom fighters for the welfare of free India that our country has flourished in the international arena,” remarked Sidhique.
PK Mohammed, general secretary, MES Governing Body, was the guest of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, MES Indian School Principal Hameeda Kadar urged the students to assume a more responsible role in upholding the pride and glory of India and to fructify the dreams of its visionary leaders.
Head Boy Dhananjay Gaur read out the Preamble of the Constitution of India as the gathering repeated the same. The school choir sang a patriotic song written by Hindi teacher Rajendran S and composed by music teacher Anver VP.
Boys and girls from different sections of the school joined the celebrations with patriotic zeal.
