The all-new Tiggo8, an SUV from Chinese automobile manufacturer Chery, has received a high score in a collision test and won the C-NCAP five-star safety certification from the China Automotive Technology and Research Centre.
The centre, on October 10, released the C-NCAP collision test results for new models.
As China’s most authoritative standard for third-party automobile safety performance testing, C-NCAP has continuously improved the testing standards since its launch. It has tightened and quantified the evaluation for children and rear-seat passengers, added the whipping test, and adopted the stricter star rating. Therefore, to obtain the C-NCAP five-star safety certification, the vehicle has to have exceptional safety performance.

High-strength body of all-new Tiggo8
C-NCAP collision results reveal the all-new Tiggo8 has exceptional performance in both front and side collisions. All airbags and air curtains are normally popped up; and the safety belts are tightly fastened, which protect adults and children very well. In particular, high scores are obtained for protection of head, neck, chest, abdomen and legs. The excellent results are attributed to reference to latest C-NCAP five-star safety standards in early-stage design of the all-new Tiggo8. As a result, no effort is spared to create the product safety performance.

In addition to the hardcore strength of the body structure fully demonstrated in the collision test, Tiggo8 also has wonderful soft power in pedestrian protection and active safety.
In terms of active safety, the all-new Tiggo8 is equipped with a number of intelligent configurations, including AEB, IHC, FCW, SLA, RCTA, LDW, and HDC automatic control system. Thanks to these intelligent configurations, the all-new Tiggo8 finally got a very high score in the active safety test.

All-new Tiggo8
In fact, the all-new Tiggo8’s excellent performance in C-NCAP safety test is not only attributed to the great strength of the product, but also to Chery’s long-time efforts in quality control.
In order to maximize product quality, Chery has built a dual-matrix lifecycle quality management system and “5+1” quality management model ranging from product planning, design, development, supplier management, manufacturing, marketing services and system quality. In the product R&D process, Chery has established a matrix product development model in which the product development management centre and technology centres cooperate with one another, thus forming a V-shaped positive R&D system and process for vehicle development, and establishing a solid foundation for building high-quality, premium products and excellent brands.
In the product manufacturing process, Chery is the first among Chinese auto brands to establish a globally unified production management system - CPS (Chery Production Method), thus ensuring the global quality of Chery products.
It is worth mentioning that at the 44th International Convention on QC Circles 2019 held in September, Chery’s Optimize QC team won the gold award. As Chery Chairman Yin Tongyue stressed, “Quality is the self-esteem of the company and quality is the life of the enterprise”. The great praise and recognition for Chery’s quality management will also become the endless driving force that encourages Chery to provide higher quality products and services to customers.

Gold Award
Thanks to its excellent product force, all-new Tiggo8 has seen continued rise of its sales ever since the launch in China. In September, the all-new Tiggo8 sold 11,890 units, exceeding 10,000 units for two consecutive months and making it one of the most popular products among consumers in China. The C-NCAP five-star safety certification again proves the performance of all-new Tiggo8 and Chery’s focus on customers and continuous pursuit of excellence. In the future, Chery will continue to launch more premium vehicles that meet the needs of consumers while making unremitting efforts to become a globally competitive auto brand.
