The Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani and President of the Italian Republic Sergio Mattarella held official talks at the Amiri Diwan on Tuesday.
The talks dealt with relations between the two countries and the means of developing them in different fields.
During the talks, they also exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of common concern, especially the latest developments in the region.
The Amir hosted a luncheon banquet in honour of the Italian president and the delegation accompanying him at the Amiri Diwan.
The banquet was attended by sheikhs, ministers and businessmen.
Earlier upon arrival at the Amiri Diwan, an official reception was held for the Italian president.
The Italian president and his accompanying delegation also visited the National Museum of Qatar (NMoQ) as part of their visit to Qatar.
The president, who was welcomed by Director of National Museum of Qatar HE Sheikha Amna bint Abdulaziz al Thani, was given a tour of the museum’s galleries and briefed about the pieces and collections related to the life and history of the people of Qatar.
