The Zakat Fund of the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs (Awqaf) provided aid worth QR250,906,854 in 2019.
In a press release on Monday, the Fund said the aid came in the form of permanent and seasonal assistance to the needy and registered families whose needs have been verified by the social, office and field research conducted by the Fund, in order to achieve the goal of delivering aid to the real beneficiaries.
The Fund provided QR133,830,636 cyclical assistance; QR30,096,817 one-time aid; QR30,373,595 tuition fees; QR5,921,572 treatment aid; aid of benevolence basket worth QR18,206,184; QR11,36,900 Eid Al-Fitr aid and QR10,812,500 Eid Al-Adha aid, as well as foreign aid for Syrian refugees worth QR10 million and others at a cost of QR628,650.
