Shura Council Speaker HE Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid al Mahmoud has underlined Qatar’s support for the internationally-recognised Government of National Accord of Libya. He affirmed Qatar’s commitment to everything that would fulfil the aspirations of the brotherly Libyan people in security and stability and achieving national reconciliation among all its components, as well as its keenness on the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Libya.
This came as the Shura Council Speaker met a delegation from the Libyan House of Representatives chaired by Saad Mohammed Saleh al Jazwe in Doha on Sunday. The meeting discussed the latest developments in Libya, and the means of developing the parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.
The Libyan parliamentary delegation expressed thanks and appreciation for Qatar’s firm position in support of Libya’s legitimacy, and its constructive efforts to restore harmony and stability in Libya.
