Iran dailies highlight importance of Amir’s visit, bilateral ties Jan 14, 2020 0 163 12345 QNATehranIranian English-language newspapers have highlighted the Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani’s official visit to Iran, and the important talks the Amir held with Iranian leaders, especially Iranian President Dr Hassan Rouhani and Supreme Leader of Iran Ali Khamenei.Referring to Iranian president’s joint press conference held with the Amir, Tehran Times highlighted Rouhani’s statement in which he said that Iran has stood and will stand beside Qatar in the future. The paper quoted Rouhani as saying “Iran stood beside Qatar and will stand based on its duties as a neighbour” affirming the importance Iran attached to its relations with Qatar. Rouhani said the two countries have very good relationship in various areas of economy, science and culture, the paper added.Iran’s Financial Tribune daily said the Amir’s visit to Iran came at a difficult time the region is going through, adding that the countries of the region should make great efforts to reduce current tensions.The daily pointed out that the Amir in his meetings with Rouhani and senior Iranian officials held purposeful talks that focused on bilateral relations and the ways of enhancing them, as well as regional and international developments.Rouhani said they made important decisions about boosting bilateral ties, including the establishment of a joint commission to convene annually, the paper underlined.Financial Tribune also referred to the Amir’s statements which affirmed that de-escalation and dialogue are needed to resolve regional crises at a “sensitive” time.The Iranian daily hailed the Amir’s thanks to Iran for its stand on Qatar after the blockade and for providing all facilities to Qatar and the Qatari people by opening their airspace and seaports immediately.Iran Daily highlighted Amir’s visit and Rouhani’s talks with the Amir and said that the potentials of both countries could contribute to regional peace and stability, Rouhani also underlined that capitalising on the potential of Iran and Qatar could enhance bilateral ties in various fields, Iran Daily said.
