Paris: Strikes and protests against the Paris government’s planned pension reform continued for the third consecutive day on Saturday. Rail traffic was again massively disrupted throughout the country, and in Paris the Metro was almost completely halted due to strikes by employees. These strikes were expected to continue on Sunday.
In many cities, people took to the streets to protest the government plans, while lorry drivers angry at a planned tax increase on diesel fuel blocked motorways across the country.
