Beni: At least 14 people have been killed since Monday in eastern DR Congo in attacks blamed on a militia responsible for a series of massacres, local officials said.
Dozens of armed groups have troubled the DR Congo’s restive east for decades despite a UN peacekeeping presence, but recent attacks have been blamed on the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) Islamist-rooted militia.
“Three people were killed in the night between Wednesday and Thursday in Oicha,” Beni region administrator Donat Kibwana said. (AFP)
