German defence minister says include Afghans in peace talks

Kabul: During her visit to Afghanistan, Germany’s Defence Minister Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer called for the inclusion of Afghan politicians in peace talks with the militant Islamist Taliban, at a press conference on Tuesday with Afghan President Ashraf Ghani.
“We believe that peace talks, and a peace agreement, should also include Afghan politicians and leaders,” she added.
The defence minister called for an extension of Germany’s participation in NATO’s stabilisation mission in the country. (DPA)
