More Kenyan professionals than domestic workers are coming to Qatar for employment, Kenyan Ambassador to Qatar HE Paddy Ahenda has said.
The envoy said he was working hard to make sure the number of domestic workers coming to Qatar decreases and the number of professionals increases. “We discussed this at a high level with the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, and the Ministry of Interior,” he said.
“Currently, more Kenyan professionals are coming to Doha,” the ambassador said, adding that since he came to Qatar earlier this year, he has been working hard to make sure he takes care of the Kenyans.
The envoy praised the Kenyan expatriates for being “good ambassadors” of their country at their work places.
He also praised the idea of Qatar opening a visa centre in Nairobi.
