PM opens iconic 2022 building Dec 03, 2019 0 934 12345 QNADohaPrime Minister and Minister of the Interior HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al Thani inaugurated the “2022 building” in Aspire Zone on Monday.After displaying a short film about the development of sports and sports facilities in Qatar, the PM listened to a brief explanation on the connotations of the design of the building and its sections, as it is the first building in the world designed in the form of “2022”.The inauguration coincides with the ninth anniversary of Qatar winning the right to organise the World Cup for the first time in the Middle East. The building stands out due to its unique design in the shape of numerals 2022. The 60,000 square-metre mixed-use building includes administrative offices, integrated health club, restaurants and cafes as well as meeting rooms and a lecture theater. The building consists of four wings of five floors each. Al Bandari is the main contractor for the project and Laura International is the developer.The inauguration was attended by a number of sheikhs and senior sports officials.
