The Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani will open the 24th edition of the Arabian Gulf Cup at Khalifa International Stadium on Tuesday.
The late inclusion of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and the UAE had earlier returned the competition to its original eight-team format alongside hosts Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, Iraq and Yemen.
The authorities have left no stone unturned to make the tournament a grand success.
The Local Organising Committee in partnership with the Ministry of Sports and Culture has lined up a string of activities for fans.
Pre-match activities are scheduled to begin three hours ahead of the Qatar versus Iraq opener, which will kick off at 7.30pm, according to LOC Director of Venue Operations and Overlay Jassim al Jassim.
The committee said the Gulf Cup will be a golden opportunity to test readiness for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
