Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation (Kahramaa), represented by its National Program for the Conservation and Energy Efficiency (Tarsheed), opened a three-day event as part of the ongoing cultural exchange programme between Qatar and India, at the iconic Kahramaa Awareness Park on Wednesday.
The event, which was inaugurated by Indian Ambassador to Qatar HE P Kumaran and Kahramaa’s Conservation and Energy Efficiency Department’s Manager Eng. Abdul Azeez al Hammadi, focused on “sustainable culture for sustainable development”.
A large number of students from Indian schools, Indian community members, and senior functionaries of Kahramaa and Indian embassy were present on the occasion. The gathering shared the deep-rooted cultural relationship and historical cultural values of two important nations of the world.

Speaking on the occasion, the Indian ambassador said, “The Government of Qatar and Kahramaa are taking the initiative to promote the culture of sustainability among the various communities in Qatar and as the largest expatriate community living in Qatar, it’s important that the Indian community also gets involved in this programme and contribute in as positive a way.”
Hammadi said such events on sustainability, which is the core idea of Qatar for Qatar National Vision 2030 to reduce CO2 emissions, aims to increase efficiency and save the resources.
Fatima Said al Mesnad, head of Community Awareness & Development at Kahramaa’s Conservation and Energy Efficiency Department, said: “To have an event in the name of sustainable culture, we want to let people know about the sustainability and to know the peoples’ responses to keep Qatar Green initiative.”
