Barwa Real Estate (BRE) Group, the developer of Al Khor Recreation extension project, and Al Bader Construction and Steel Works, the project’s contractor, have recently completed 3.2 million safe man hours without lost-time-injury (LTI), the companies announced in a statement on Tuesday.
Both companies have marked this high standard of safety and security measures applied throughout the project phases.
Issa bin Mohammed al Mohannadi, Vice Chairman & Managing Director of Barwa, said: “We are pleased to be celebrating such an achievement in the safety and security standards being implemented within Barwa Real Estate developments and within Al Khor Recreation extension project precisely.
Barwa teams along with Al Bader Construction and Steel Works have proved competence and achieved a milestone”.
Al Bader Chairman Mohamed bin Ahmed al Emadi, said: “We have invested great time and resources to create awareness around safety & security among the teams working in our projects, which has its positive impact when it comes to saving lives and avoiding the wasted resources as well”.
Al Mohannadi, along with projects managers of Barwa Real Estate, had a tour to check the facilities of Al Khor Recreation extension project. The project is located in Al Khor Industrial Area and built on a land area of 69,757 square meters, offering 516 residential units with a total construction area of 53,639 square metres.
In addition to a hypermarket which covers an area of 8,000 square meters and a multi-use hall of up to 300 square meters, the infrastructure works of the project offer one electrical substation and internal roads, as well as all the necessary services such as water, electricity, sewerage, irrigation, communications, surveillance cameras, parking lots and pump rooms with water, fire and gas tanks.
The project focuses on elevating the standard of living of workers in Al Khor City, offering them integrated recreational and sports facilities that serve the residents there. Al Khor Recreation extension project is part of Al Khor Workers Sports Complex, which opened its doors to the workers early on 2014, aiming to serve more than 160,000 workers in Al Khor, Al Dhakira and surrounding areas.
The project is built on a land of 245,000 square metres including four football courts, four basketball courts, three volleyball courts and three kabaddi stadiums, in addition to 35 shops.
