Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Bahrain will take part in the 24th Gulf Cup to be held in Doha. This was announced by the Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation (AGCFF) at a press conference in Doha on Wednesday.
AGCFF Vice-President Jassim al Shukaili and Secretary-General Jassim al Rumaihi attended the press conference.
The decision came after the Executive Office of the Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation (AGCFF) approved the requests submitted by the three countries’ associations during the past two days.
The AGCFF appreciated the response of the associations of these countries to the invitation extended to them which was presented as a last attempt to reunite the friends under the umbrella of the tournament that has always been one of the successful means to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and love among the peoples of the region. The move underlines its ability to overcome the challenges the region is facing.
In light of the new development, the Arab Gulf Cup Federation will have to redraw group matches to reflect the participation of the three countries. The tournament will take place from November 26 to December 8.
