Centro Capital Doha, a four-star property under Rotana Hotel Management Corporation, on Monday partnered with Qatar Cancer Society (QCS) to host an interactive panel session where 10 breast cancer survivors shared their experiences and highlighted the importance of early detection.
The session aimed to support the cause of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is observed globally every year in October.
Erik Guluta, general manager at Centro Capital Doha, said: “We are pleased to have Qatar Cancer Society with us to create awareness of breast cancer. As part of our corporate social responsibility, we have joined the community to be part of the global Breast Cancer Awareness campaign to spread the word. We encourage everyone to take part in the initiative and support the cause.”
Ibrahim Bani Amer, advocacy officer, Health Educator at Qatar Cancer Society, said: “We thank Centro Capital Doha for giving us this platform. Through such campaigns, we are dedicated to support, empower and educate the community on how to reduce the risk of getting the disease.”
Qatar Cancer Society is a non-profit humanitarian charity founded in 1997. The organisation dedicates to advocate those living with cancer in addition to engaging professional development and scientific research in the field of cancer.
Centro Capital Doha conducts a variation of activities to be prevalently involved in the community in Qatar. Through such initiatives, it reflects upon the hotel’s core corporate social responsibility values.
