HEALTHY food and balanced diet keep a person in fine fettle and this was the motto behind the World Food Day celebrations held at Noble International School (NIS) recently.
The celebrations also highlighted the importance of curbing wastage of food as one-third of the food produced, which can feed the world for one year, is being wasted.
The participating students were urged to eat and share food, as well as eat healthy, at the event held under the theme ‘Our actions are our future’.
The students were further encouraged to bring traditional food to school to ensure their good health.
The event also featured a food festival where the students exhibited their traditional cuisines and shared its nutritional merits among themselves.
The event also included speeches and quiz related to food. Besides, the tiny tots of NIS held a miniscule food festival of their own to promote
healthy and traditional eating. NIS Principal Shibu Abdul Rasheed praised the students for their involvement in a “no wastage food festival”.
