Business leaders, practitioners, policy-makers, researchers and scholars are gathering in Doha to attend the Qatar Sustainability Summit (QSS), which will be held at the St Regis Doha on October 27 and 28.
The agenda is simple — drive climate action and find ways forward to a sustainable future. The mega event is being launched as the country’s flagship sustainability initiative under the patronage of the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al Thani.
As a co-organiser of the summit, the Gulf Organisation for Research & Development (GORD) has convened experts from all over the world to share insights, best practices and knowledge on multiple facets of sustainability.
QSS will consolidate GORD’s annual Sustainability Summit with other green events for a joint opening ceremony in the presence of the Minister of Municipality and Environment HE Eng Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki al Subaie.
This year, GORD has revealed ‘Destination Green’ as the theme of its sessions that will encompass five key areas, namely, built environment, earthly resources, energy and industries, transportation, and green businesses. These have been carefully thought out to cover a wide spectrum including the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). (TNN)
