THE Ministry of Transport and Communication (MoTC) on Wednesday announced the 28 key sponsors for the fifth edition of Qatar IT Conference and Exhibition’s (QITCOM) to be held at Qatar National Convention Center (QNCC) from October 20 to November 1.
Being held under the patronage of the Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani, the event is themed ‘Safe Smart Cities’ and is expected to attract around 30,000 visitors.
Addressing a press conference held at St Regis Hotel on Wednesday, Assistant Undersecretary for the Digital Society Development Sector at MoTC Reem al Mansoori said: “We are proud to announce that QITCOM 2019 is being sponsored by 28 local, regional and international companies and entities. We appreciate their support in helping us build a knowledge sharing platform for local and global technology experts to realise our goal of ‘Smart Qatar’.”
According to Mansoori, Qatar Free Zones Authority, Ooredoo and QNB are the strategic sponsors of QITCOM 2019 whereas Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy, Hamad International Airport, Mwani Qatar, Microsoft, Qatar Rail and Vodafone Qatar are the event’s official sponsors.
Mansoori added, “The 5th edition is particularly significant because it will host Qatar’s first Smart City Expo Doha (SCED) with the participation of 50 local and global experts and speakers who will cover multiple technological issues related to smart cities, cybersecurity, entrepreneurship, artificial intelligence and urban planning.”
Mowasalat, Cisco and Al Mannai Corporation are the gold sponsors of the event while Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), Q-Terminals, BI.Zone, Qatar Development Bank (QDB), Deloitte and Thales are silver sponsors.
The pearl sponsors of the event include Qatar Financial Centre (QFC), MEEZA, IBM, Dell Technologies, Intel, Malomatia, GBM, Huawei and, SAP and Milaha.
It is worth noting that the event will also host an entrepreneurship zone featuring 300 entrepreneurs and 100 startups companies.
An exceptional and special Qatari representation is to be expected at QITCOM 2019, especially with the participation of the MOTC and Qatar Digital Government at the exhibition.
The MoTC has launched a special application supported on Android and IOS, which contains all the information about the event including the activities and sessions, in addition to providing live streaming of the exhibition events.
