The weekly Cabinet session on Wednesday approved a draft decision of the Ministry of Interior to determine designated parking places for trucks, trailers and other such vehicles.
The decision was made to pave the way for prohibiting the parking of big vehicles on non-designated road sides or empty areas as spelled out by Article 78 of the Law No 19 of 2007.
Chaired by Prime Minister and Minister of Interior HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al Thani, the Cabinet also approved a draft law amending some provisions of Law No. 2 of 2011 on official statistics.
The draft law includes the amendment of some of the provisions of the referred law to comply with the provisions of the Amiri Decision No. 70 of 2018 on the establishment of the Planning and Statistics Authority and to provide the necessary requirements for the success of statistical operations.
Wednesday’s session also endorsed a draft decision by the Minister of Interior to amend some provisions of Decision No. 7 of 2012 on determining private security services and licensing controls for private security services companies and on regulating their work.
The amendment aims to codify the services provided by private security services companies in guarding and protection of ships, a statement from Minister of Justice and Acting Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs HE Dr Issa bin Saad al Jafali al Nuaimi said.
