Qatar International Centre for Conciliation and Arbitration’s (QICCA) Dr Sheikh Thani bin Ali al Thani has been honoured with an “international ambassador for social responsibility” title at a global conference on Islamic banking held recently in Kuwait.
Governor of Kuwait’s Al Ahmadi city Sheikh Fawaz al Khaled al Sabah was also granted the same title at the fourth edition of the Social Responsibility at Islamic Banks Conference. It was held under the theme ‘banking leadership and its role in boosting practice of social responsibility’.
A large number of economists, bankers, senior executives and officials from Arab countries attended the conference, which also saw the honouring of several economic dignitaries from these countries.
Co-organised by Kuwait-based Arab Planning Institute, the conference was aimed at reviewing the best Islamic and international practices and experiments in the field of Islamic banking.
