Al Jazeera marked 1,000 days on Thursday since its journalist Mahmoud Hussein was detained in Egypt without any formal charges. Hussein, an Egyptian national who works for the Al Jazeera Arabic television channel in Qatar, was arrested on arrival in Egypt on December 20, 2016, while on a visit to see his family. Al Jazeera launched a solidarity campaign seeking the release of Hussein. PaGe 5
