THE Chief of Staff of the Qatar Armed Forces Lieutenant-General (Pilot) HE Ghanem bin Shaheen al Ghanem took part in a seminar of senior commanders of the countries participating in the Eager Lion exercise 2019, which is currently taking place in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Lt-Gen Ghanem also visited the King Abdullah II Special Operations Training Center (KASOTC) accompanied by the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Major General (Pilot) Yousef Ahmed al Hunaiti. Qatar slams Kabul explosion
THE State of Qatar has expressed its strong denunciation and condemnation of the explosion in the Afghan capital Kabul, which resulted in deaths and injuries. In a statement on Tuesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated Qatar’s firm position rejecting violence and terrorism, whatever the motives and reasons. The statement expressed Qatar’s condolences to the families of the victims and to the government and the people of Afghanistan, wishing the injured speed recovery. (QNA)
Governor general of Solomon Islands receives Qatari envoy’s credentials
The Governor General of Solomon Islands David Vunagi received the credentials of HE Saad bin Abdullah al Mahmoud as (non-resident) ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Qatar to Solomon Islands. During the meeting, the ambassador conveyed the greetings and good wishes of the Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani to the governor general of Solomon Islands, and its government and the people. For his part, HE the Governor General of Solomon Islands entrusted the ambassador with his greetings and good wishes for HH the Amir and the Qatari people. (QNA)
