THE Ministry of Education and Higher Education on Tuesday announced the launch of the 13th edition of the Scientific Excellence Award. The ministry will receive applications to participate in the award from October 1 until the end of the same month.
The CEO of the Scientific Excellence Award Dr Hamda Hassan al Sulaiti presented the objectives and the vision behind the nine award categories.
Sulaiti stressed the importance of the award as it’s an occasion to honour distinguished Qataris in various fields in order to spread the culture of creativity and excellence in the Qatari society.
Sulaiti pointed out that three of the previous winners of the award will represent the State of Qatar in an international scientific forum to be held later in Geneva to encourage them for their continued excellence.
Sulaiti touched on various activities of the award, including organising introductory meetings for school administrators and coordinators and concerned ministries and institutions, holding training workshops for the award categories
and the organisation of its own documentation exhibition.
The Executive Vice-President of the Scientific Excellence Awards Mona al Kuwarisaid that the organising committee has held educational meetings at the summer centres of the Ministry of Culture and Sports about the award. It has also involved parents in awareness programmes to encourage them to nominate their children to participate in the various categories of the award.
