The Pakistan Souq Bazaar held at Regency Hall on August 30 turned out to be a big hit with Pakistani families as they thoroughly enjoyed the fun-filled activities organised by Amer Saeed Khan, founder and CEO of BPF Group of Companies, with support from community representatives and the Pakistani embassy.
Scores of stalls showcasing different Pakistani products including handicrafts, apparels, footwear, artificial jewellery and authentic cuisine attracted huge crowds.
On this occasion, the organisers also formally launched Pakistan Souq, an online portal for the business community and Pakistani expatriates living in Qatar. The event also included competitions as well as entertainment and raffle draws with prizes for guests.
The official launch ceremony was attended by Charge d’Affaires at the Pakistan Embassy Masood Gul, Commercial Secretary Salman Ali, community leaders and members of the Pakistani business community.
The national anthems of Qatar and Pakistan were played on the occasion and a cake-cutting ceremony was held to formally launch the Pakistan Souq portal.
“I would like to thank Pakistan embassy and community members, especially the business community, for their help in organising the event,” said Amer Saeed Khan, founder of BPF Group of Companies. Pakistan Souq, he said, is a unifying facility offering access to e-commerce, e-business services, business forums, job portals and career counselling for SMEs and startups.
“We provided stalls free of cost to all the retailers and cottage industry people. We’ll also provide them online space at our portal to further promote these industries,” informed Khan.
By joining the larger Pakistani business community on the platform, Pakistani entrepreneurs worldwide will be able to collaborate and pool together their resources to start their own businesses to achieve success and expand their reach to a global level.
The Business Community section of the Pakistan Souq platform will serve as an incubator of talent and a think-tank that will assist and nurture the global Pakistani business community and provide a range of new opportunities for aspiring Pakistani entrepreneurs, added Khan.
Earlier, the organisers arranged pre-launching ceremony of Pakistan Souq at Intercontinental Doha Hotel on August 13. Pakistan Ambassador to Qatar HE Syed Ahsan Raza Shah attended the event as the chief guest. Khan briefed community members about the aims and objectives of the Pakistan Souq online portal.
