MES Indian School recently organised a three-day orientation programme for its teachers, aiming to enhance their pedagogical skills and familiarise them with the latest and innovative methods in teaching and learning. A total of 320 teachers attended the session.
Inaugurating the programme, Principal of the school Hameeda Kadar highlighted the importance of being up-to-date on the latest methods in the teaching-learning process. She also urged the teachers to reinvent themselves by acquiring the right outlook about their profession and updating the teaching strategies to lead students according to the demands and expectations of the world today.
Aman Sood, an experienced professional in ed-tech, presented the topics ‘Professional Development Plan’ and ‘Touch DS’ at the workshop, while Meenakshi Uberoi dealt with topics on inclusive learning and effective teaching methods for 21st century learners.
A powerpoint presentation was carried out by Jency George, from the Department of English, on classroom management strategies, while the Department of Counselling handled the topics of managing stress and effective communication.
In the fitness session, conducted by the Physical Education Department, teachers were given yoga lessons and general health tips. An ERP training session on the new study modules was conducted by the ICT Department of the school.
The programme also witnessed interactive sessions, where the teachers enthusiastically participated in various enriching activities on scholastic and co-scholastic domains to enhance their classroom interactions, besides receiving guidance and pointers for effective curriculum transaction. Sudheesh from the Department of Physics coordinated the programme.
