Qatar has congratulated Sudan and its people on the official signing of the constitutional document under the auspices of the African Union and the efforts of Ethiopia.
In a statement on Saturday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the signing of the document is the result of the struggle and sacrifices of the Sudanese people, especially the youth aspiring for freedom and justice. It also shows the maturity and awareness of those in charge of the matter in Sudan to articulate this moment in the history of their country. The statement expressed the hope of Qatar that the constitutional document will ensure a true representation of all Sudanese people in the political process without exclusion of anyone.
It said Qatar appreciated the efforts of the African Union and Ethiopia in bridging the gap between the Sudanese parties and their pivotal role in the completion of the document signing. It stressed Qatar’s firm stance in support of the unity, stability and sovereignty of Sudan. (QNA)
