The Summer Entertainment City (SEC), a part of Summer in Qatar (SiQ) programme, has been a big hit with visitors since it opened for the second time this summer on August 9 at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center. It offers an array of exciting activities for people of all age groups.
More than 10,000 people visited the Summer Entertainment City in the first four days of the Eid Al Adha festivities.
The SEC had witnessed a tremendous run from June 4 to July 13, attracting almost 60,000 people.
The SEC is part of the SiQ organised in collaboration with Qatar National Tourism Council and QSports supported by other partners including Hamad Medical Corporation, KIA Motors, and Ministry of Interior, Q-Tickets, B2C and a number of media partners.
According to the organisers, SEC 2019 will run until August 23 and is open from Sunday to Saturday from 1pm to 11pm.
The main facilities at the SEC are amusement rides, skills games with prizes, bespoke trampoline park, kids driving school setup, block park for kids to play and build with large lego-type blocks, a 1,000 square metres ocean ball soft play area, Qatar’s first InflataPark spread over 1,200 square metres, world’s largest bounce castle, a 1,200 square metres skate park, synthetic ice skating, spider climbing tower and over 45 food options and 100 retail outlets.
This year’s highlight focuses on gaming and virtual reality featuring some of the world’s most advanced VR simulators, gaming stations and themed gaming areas.
According to organisers, the most popular activities at the venue are new Jump Kingdom, VR and Gaming arena, Ocean Ball, Inflata Park and Mini Golf.
SEC features over 85 rides and activities, over 50 retail shops, more than 45 food options, Qatar’s first and only indoor 18-hole mini-golf course, Qatar’s first and only Inflata Park, Qatar’s first and only Jump Kingdom with 15m slide; and 6,000 square metre area dedicated to VR and e-gaming setup.
