Qatar and South Korea vowed to strengthen the strategic relation between the two countries as Prime Minister and Minister of Interior HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al Thani and South Korean Prime Minister Lee Nak-yeon held official talks at the Amiri Diwan on Sunday.
At the outset of the session, the PM greeted his Korean counterpart and the accompanying delegation, pointing out that their visit to Qatar would contribute to cementing the strategic relationship between the two countries.
For his part, the South Korean Prime Minister lauded the outstanding relations between the two countries and stressed that he’s looking forward to further advance them.
The two sides discussed bilateral ties and the means to develop them in different spheres, particularly energy, trade, investment, security, health, tourism and transportation. They also reviewed regional and international development of mutual interest.
Following the session, the PM and his South Korean counterpart attended the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation in the legal field between the Ministry of Justice of Qatar and the Republic of Korea’s Ministry of Justice. Another MoU was inked on cooperation and academic exchange between Qatar Museums and Korea’s National Museum in addition to signing of an action plan regarding security cooperation in the field of training and exchange of expertise between the Ministry of Interior Qatar and the Korean National Police Agency.
“It was a pleasure welcoming HE Prime Minister of the Republic of #Korea @nylee21 to #Qatar. We held constructive discussions and signed a number of agreements, enhancing our bilateral relations & achieving our countries’ common interests,” the PM said in a tweet.
Earlier upon arrival at the Amiri Diwan, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea was accorded an official reception.
