THE Public Works Authority (Ashghal) on Tuesday announced a temporary, but complete closure, of Al Rayyan Roundabout on 22 February Street and Al Rayyan Road.
The bridges and underpasses on the street will, however, remain open to traffic.
The diversion will be implemented in coordination with the Traffic Police Department on July 18 (Wednesday) and remain in place till July 20 (Saturday) for specific intervals between 11:30pm and 5am on July 18, and from 11:30pm to 11am on July 19 and 20.
The diversion is required to complete the reinstatement of bitumen surface as well as pedestrian and footpath upgrade works at the roundabout.
Ashghal will install road signs advising traffic of the closure. The speed limit will also be lowered to 50 kph throughout the diversion to ensure the safety of traffic and project workers. (TNN)
