THE State of Qatar, represented by the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, won the second place in the International Islamic Contest for memorising the Holy Quran and reciting it in its 27th edition this year in the Kingdom of Jordan. Qatar was represented by contestant Abdullah bin Hamad Boushareedha, who participated in the Holy Quran memorisation.
Malallah Abdulrahman al Jaber, director of the Department of Da’wah and Religious Guidance at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, confirmed the department’s keenness to participate in such competitions in order to prepare a distinguished group of Qatari contestants at international forums.
The competition was held under the patronage of King Abdullah bin al Hussein of Jordan, with 39 participants from 38 Islamic countries.
