Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) has completed more than 40 percent of the maintenance works and equipping of the Operations and Sterilisation Department at the Palestinian Red Crescent Hospital in Jerusalem. This was announced by QRCS in a statement on Tuesday.
The project, with a budget of QR1,866,000, is part of the partnership between QRCS and the Palestine Red Crescent Society and will provide the Operations Department with a range of medical devices contributing directly to the upgrading of the hospital’s medical services.
In its statement, QRCS said the project is a qualitative leap for the hospital, which was established in 1953 with a capacity of 40 beds, with its last maintenance being done over 30 years ago. The objective of this project is to benefit more than 12,000 patients annually, after meeting the quality requirements for the accreditation of hospitals.
The number of births in the hospital is about 3,500 annually and the monthly surgery rate is 1,000 operations.
The hospital has a certificate of international quality as well as a Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation and includes a section for the care of premature newborns and an ambulance and emergency section and two external clinics.
