Grammy award winner Pandit Vishwamohan Bhatt and Grammy award nominee Shashank Subramanyam mesmerised Doha audience with their soulful jugalbandi at the Katara Cultural Village on Friday. Entitled ‘Unison of Strings and Wind’, the jugalbandi saw Vishwamohan Bhatt playing ‘Mohan Veena’ and Shashank playing the flute. Organised as part of the ongoing Qatar-India 2019 Year of Culture, the Indian classical music show was the launch event of Doha-based Beats and Tunes Events. Attended by Qatari dignitaries, diplomats and a number of high-profile multicultural audience, the event also saw Amita Dalal playing sitar, Himanshu on tabla and Patri Satish Kumar on mirdangam. Indian ambassador to Qatar HE P Kumaran was also present on the occasion. (tnn)
