Balraj Arunasala, immediate past international president of Toastmasters, is scheduled to visit Qatar on Saturday to conduct training during the district executive committee meeting and to deliver a keynote address titled ‘Position is not the pinnacle’.
Arunasalam, who hails from Sri Lanka, is pursuing a master’s degree through the Australian Institute of Business Administration. A dedicated Toastmaster for 28 years, he is a distinguished leader who has held numerous offices.
“Toastmasters is a way of life,” Arunasalam said. “It helped me understand the philosophy of leadership, to give and receive respect, and to be humble.”
As immediate past president, Arunasalam is a ‘working ambassador’ for the organisation. He works with the Board to develop and support the policies and procedures that guide Toastmasters International in fulfilling its mission.
District Director Sundaresan Rajeswar said, “There cannot be a better way to end this very successful year with Qatar being the first Smedley Distinguished District in the world and currently tops in other global ranking criteria. This event is like a parting gift to members for accomplishing goals set in every sphere with exemplary teamwork and dedication. God bless the potential we all have for making anything possible if we think we
deserve it.”
The event is scheduled on Saturday from 6.30pm at Birla School auditorium. (tnn)
