InterContinental Doha Hotel & Residences has appointed Chef Marios Papadopoulos as the new Chef de Cuisine at its award-winning Greek restaurant Mykonos.
Chef Marios carries over 18 years of experience working in the culinary industry in different corners of the globe.
His role is to oversee the diverse operation of Mykonos and continue to set the bar in creating signature Greek cuisine and bringing diners a remarkable five-star experience. Chef Marios brings invaluable expertise from working for global luxury brands such as Copthorne, Greek Pavillion and Rosewood prior to joining the InterContinental family.
He has spent the past one year and nine months as Chef de Cuisine in Sunrise Crystal Bay Resort in Hurghada, Egypt, overseeing the operation for three Greek restaurants.
“Chef Marios’ unrelenting passion for the culinary arts and utmost creativity will be the foundation of unforgettable dining experiences and authentic Greek Mediterranean cuisine at Mykonos,” said Michael Frydas, director of Food and Beverage at InterContinental Doha.
Marios hails from Athens, Greece. He holds a Certificate from the Alpine Center for Hotel and Management in Athens, Greece. He started his culinary career as a Commis Chef in Gatwick Copthorne Hotel in London, UK.
Chef Marios speaks English, Greek, Basic Mandarin and Arabic.
