The General Directorate of Traffic has announced special and increased focus on school students to spread awareness about road safety in its new plan.
Lieutenant Colonel Jaber Odeiba, Assistant Director of Traffic Awareness Department, said, “The department has an awareness plan covering all segments of society, and we focus on school students, especially those in the early stages of education.”
“In some awareness programmes, we send traffic specialists to visit schools and give lectures on road safety in coordination with schools directly,” he said, adding that “We also organise workshops and educational seminars at the General Directorate of Traffic on Traffic Safety.”
He said, “We invite a group of school students and during discussions answer many issues that concern the safety of our students.” He said the programmes start with the beginning of the academic year and continue until the end.
