Qatar has condemned the Israeli shelling of Gaza Strip that killed a number of Palestinians, saying it’s a crime against humanity and a flagrant violation of international conventions and laws.
In a statement on Sunday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on the international community and the UN Security Council to act urgently to provide protection to the defenceless Palestinian people in light of the serious Israeli escalation in Gaza Strip.
It said the policy of turning a blind eye to the crimes of the Israeli occupation is the direct cause of flagrant violations of international conventions and laws.
It reiterated Qatar’s full support for the Palestinian people’s self-determination and restoration of all legitimate rights, foremost of which is the establishment of an independent and sovereign state on the borders of June 4, 1967 with Al Quds as its capital.
