Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) has signed an agreement with the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock and the Ministry of Energy and Hydraulics of Guinea to fund several development projects in the rural areas of the country at an estimated cost of $20 million.
The agreement includes road infrastructure projects, construction of bridges and reservoirs and digging of wells.
The projects involving construction of several roads, a total of 866 kms in 17 provinces, aim to benefit rural communities.
In addition, a total of three bridges of 395 metres have already been constructed under this project, providing better accessibility to the local communities.
This projects will facilitate mobility of the population, promote economic growth and create new jobs. It will also contribute to improve the mobility of goods in better conditions.
In addition, the projects include digging of 5,000 water wells and installation of solar water pumps and water tanks in seven rural provinces. This project will ensure a decent standard of living for the population in those areas.
These are part of the QFFD’s interest in long-term development projects aiming at enhancing security, ensuring stability and a decent standard of living for the present generation as well as for future generations.
