The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has announced a closure on Lusail Expressway 5/6 Interchange for traffic heading from Corniche to OnaizaStreet.
The diversion starts on Saturday, 13 April, and lasts until 31 October 2019, to enable the construction of Al Wahda pumping station.
During this traffic change, which is designed in coordination with the General Directorate of Traffic, road users can follow the below directions as shown on the attached map.
Road users coming from Corniche and heading towards Onaiza Street will be required to continue straight onto Omar al Mukhtar Street to reach the signalised intersection on Al Jamiaa Street, where they can make a U-turn and head back towards 5/6 Interchange and use the right exit onto Onaiza Street.
Also, traffic heading from Lusail towards Corniche through 5/6 Interchange, the number of available lanes will be reduced from three to one lane, while the number of lanes for traffic heading from Omar Al Mukhtar Street towards Corniche will be reduced from four to two lanes.
The Public Works Authority will install road signs advising motorists of the traffic shift and requests all road users to abide by the speed limit which will be reduced to 60kph to ensure their safety.
